At today’s press conference, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, will address the recently released academic records of President Bola Tinubu by the Chicago State University (CSU).

The press conference invitation states, “Our Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, GCON, will be holding a World Press Conference at the Yar’Adua Centre, tomorrow, Thursday 5, October 2023, in the afternoon.

The specific time will be communicated soon. Please make efforts to attend. Thank you.” It is worth noting that Atiku had obtained Tinubu’s educational records from CSU through a court subpoena, contradicting the President’s claims.

The records that were made public on October 3, including a deposition on Tuesday, revealed discrepancies between the 1979 CSU certificate submitted by Tinubu to INEC and the certificates that were issued to students by the University that year.

During the deposition, the CSU Registrar stated that he could not verify the authenticity of the certificate presented by Tinubu to INEC.

Atiku, on the other hand, had refrained from making any comments since the documents were released.

Ezekwesili suggests that Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu could have saved both the country’s reputation and the people from the embarrassment caused by the court case involving Chicago State University (CSU), simply by promptly and willingly requesting the institution to release his academic credentials.

She highlights how easy and non-stressful this act of disclosure would have been for Tinubu, effectively eliminating any doubts or skepticism among Nigerians.

She further emphasizes that such a transparent move would have prevented foreigners from raising mocking questions that undermine the integrity of the nation.
