American journalist and reporter David Yeomans is currently working for KXAN-TV in Austin, Texas, United States, as a Weekday Morning meteorologist. For as long as he can remember, he had always been interested in studying and talking about the weather from a young age. David would go to a public library to look for stacks of meteorology books as a fourth-grader, to gather as much information on the subject as he could. He attended the University of Miami from which he graduated with his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Meteorology. During his first year in college, he went back home to Austin in the summer to work as an intern at the weather department of KXAN-TV under the supervision of Jim Spencer.

After the Hurricane Katrina incident in New Orleans in 2005, Yeomans worked with Habitat for Humanity as a carpenter and helped reconstruct the upper-Ninth Ward neighborhood. He was a published student researcher under the world-famous climate change expert, Dr. Brian Soden, studying the connection between global warming and high atmospheric water vapor. His work aside, David loves mountain biking in the greenbelt as well as wake surfing on Lake Austin during his downtime. He was active in broadcasting activities during his campus days where he worked with WVUM radio as well as with Newsvision as the lead weather reporter. In 2013, he returned to the University of Miami for his Master’s degree.

He discovered his passion for meteorology from a very young age when he would go to a nearby library to check out dozens of meteorology books to learn as much as he could.
