MP Scholarship was created to provide financial support for students who reside in Madhya Pradesh, also known as the Heart of the Country.

It is located in central India. 

Bhopal is the capital city and the administrative headquarters of both the district and division.

With an average population of 72 million residents, it is recognized as the second-largest Indian state by area.

These scholarships are offered by the government of Madhya Pradesh to provide free education to students who are facing difficulties in pursuing their dreams. 

The Madhya Pradesh Scholarship Scheme includes government initiatives that offer financial assistance to students who belong to different categories.

The majority of students who belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and minorities are eligible to apply for scholarships offered by the MP government.

Scholarship applications are hosted on a state-run scholarship portal. There are over 15 scholarship schemes available, which I’ll be looking at in this article.

I’ll also list the eligibility requirements and rewards of the scholarship.

MP Scholarship Scheme

The applications for various schemes for different categories offered by the government of Madhya Pradesh are always open every academic year. 

Applications can be made from July 1st onwards. 

The Awas Yojana Scholarship is just one of the numerous scholarship schemes made available through the platform.

There is a list of scholarships provided across the state to students. Here are the various scholarship schemes available and their eligibility criteria.

  1. Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana (MMVY)

This scholarship is open to students who want to study in the Department of Technical Education and Skill Development. 

This scholarship runs for the whole year and can be renewed.

It is available for students who excelled in the 12th class in any secondary school with a 75 to 85 and above in their test scores. 

These scores must be approved by the Secondary Education Board of Madhya Pradesh and the CBSE/ICSE Board.

The annual earnings of the family must not exceed 6 Lakhs or 600,000 INR.

Interested applicants must have gotten admission to study an undergraduate course at any recognized college.

Students who want to study engineering should have qualified for the JEE Mains evaluation with a score of not less than 50,000.

Each medical student is required to have attained admission to study in any government medical or dental college through NEET.

Law students are expected to have a certified CLAT assessment and should have gotten admission to NLU.

  1. Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan Yojana (MMJKY)

This scholarship scheme is particularly in the Madhya Pradesh labor department.

Interested candidates are expected to have gotten admission to any undergraduate, postgraduate, or polytechnic college.

All engineering students are required to have received a certified JEE Mains assessment with a rank of not more than 50,000.

The medical students are relied upon to have gotten admission in MBBS through JIPMER, or AIIMS.

Law students are required to have taken admission by qualifying for the CLAT.

This scholarship runs throughout the academic year.

  1. Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC Students

This MP Scheme is for Other Backward Classes (OBC). Sponsored by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.

There are several universities or institutions that offer this scheme.

I will list a few below.

  • ICAR-IARI Division of Genetics Junior/Senior Research Fellowship awards post-graduate scholars up to INR 35,000 plus 24% HRA.
  • Kharagpur Centre of Mining Engineering Research Associates awards post-graduate OBC students up to INR 47,000 for the duration of the course.
  • Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University Junior Research Fellowship offers INR 30,000 every month for post-graduate students. Must possess a bachelor’s degree in technology.
  • Jawaharlal Nehru University School of Life Sciences Senior Research Fellowship award INR 35,000 per month plus HRA.

Other requirements include;

  • For a 100% grant, the family’s annual income should not exceed INR 75,000.
  • The annual salary of the family must not fall below INR 1,00,000 (for a 50% grant).
  1. Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC/ST Students

SC undergraduates who are enrolled in post-optional courses of study are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Students in the ST category who are enrolled in post-graduate coursework are eligible to apply for the grant.

For a 100% grant, the family’s annual income cannot exceed INR 2,50,000.

The yearly pay of the family should not be between INR 2,50,000 and INR 6,00,000 (for a 50% grant).

  1. Model Higher Secondary Schools and Girls’ Education Complex Scholarship Scheme

This MP Scholarship scheme is mainly for girls who must have completed classes in 5th,8th and 10th grade before applying.

The students must attain a 60% or higher test mark score in the previous class or assessment.

  1. Gaon ki Beti Yojna Scholarship Scheme

The girl must live in a rural region (village daughter certificate).

The applicant must have received at least 60% of the possible points in her 12th grade exams. 

  1. Vikramaditya Scholarship Yojna Scholarship

Students with annual earnings of up to Rs. 54,000 are eligible to apply.

Additionally, they must have scored 60% or more marks in the 12th class assessment test.

  1. MP Awas Scholarship for SC/ST Students

The Awas Yojana scholarship is only open to post-secondary students who fall under the SC/ST category.

The applicant or student must reside in Madhya Pradesh and be enrolled in the institution while paying rent.

Eligibility Requirements for MP Scholarship

For anybody interested in applying for any of the scholarships, I am going to highlight the eligibility criteria that must be met before enrolling yourself in the scholarship program. 

The eligibility criteria for different MP Scholarship schemes vary depending on the educational level of applicants.

Student category and family income are important considerations for several awards.

One of the key qualification restrictions that apply to all awards is that they are all eligible to students from Madhya Pradesh. 

However, there are other different conditions that you have to satisfy to be eligible. 

  • The applicant must be a Madhya Pradesh resident.
  • Students from the SC/ST/OBC categories who are pursuing post-secondary education can apply for the scholarship.
  • For OBC students, the family’s yearly income should not exceed Rs 3,00,000 (for a full scholarship).
  • For SC/ST students, the family’s yearly income must be less than INR 5,00,000 to qualify for a full scholarship.
  • For SC/ST students, the family’s annual income should be between INR 5,00,000 and INR 6,00,000 In exchange for a 50% scholarship.

MP Scholarship Benefits

There are several incentives and advantages that come with the program. These are listed below:

  • Students who were accepted into superior training programs recognized by the Indian government or the state of MP would be exempted from paying the entry fee (except for caution cash and mess charge)
  • Enables women from remote regions to receive financial aid for higher education.
  • Each year, scholarships are granted to as many as 5000 college students.
  • Financial support is provided annually up to a maximum of Rs. 2500
  • There is a provision to provide housing allowance as financial assistance to qualified students for a fee of Rs. 1000-2000 per month.
  • Ph.D. students from SC/ST groups may receive a monthly allowance of Rs. 16000.

How to Apply

Students must complete the application form online at the official website. The following procedures must be followed:

  • To begin, register yourself by clicking on “new registration.”
  • Fill in the needed information and press the submit button.
  • A login ID and password created by the system will be assigned.
  • Log in with that id and password, then click the ‘explore’ button and select the scholarship you’re applying for.
  • Fill in the essential information, such as educational background, etc.
  • Upload all needed papers and click submit.
  • Complete the KYC procedure by uploading bank information.
  • Click on the final submission and print a copy for future reference.
