Yesterday, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike expressed his commitment to rallying electoral support for President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election. He emphasized that those who received only 2,000 votes in the 2023 election would not receive significant support in 2027.

Wike made these remarks during a visit from the leaders of the Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, led by National Vice Chairman Victor Giadom.

The minister stated that he did not regret supporting the president in the previous election, as his aim was to promote fairness and justice. He firmly declared that he owed no one an apology for his decision.

Furthermore, Wike promised to include the Rivers APC and all Nigerians in his plans, ensuring that he would not discriminate based on religion, ethnicity, or political affiliations.

He emphasized that it was our duty to support Mr. President, regardless of which political party we belonged to.

My position is not hidden, and I make no apologies for standing firmly with him. I advocate for equality, fairness, and justice.

I am grateful to God that the battle has come to an end, bringing glory to Him. We must all recognize that the Nigerian state does not belong to any specific individual or group; we are all members of it. In a country like ours, if one person benefits, the next opportunity should go to another.

We must strive for inclusivity. I will not discriminate against anyone. I am here for all Nigerians, regardless of their political affiliations or lack thereof.

It is important to remember that the President, despite emerging from a particular political party, is not solely the President of that party. He is the President of Nigeria. While he may need to consider the interests of his party, it is essential that his governance benefits all Nigerians.

β€œThe utmost priority is the well-being of Rivers State. We must always prioritize what will benefit our state. Although I am not affiliated with the APC, I strongly believe in supporting Asiwaju. When assessing the candidates from the south, I was convinced that Asiwaju is unbeatable due to his capacity and political will to take action.

Most of you have worked for Asiwaju, while it is evident who did not. I am not a politician solely concerned with myself; I work for the betterment of all. Dependency on one person is not sustainable because we all need each other.

Rest assured, we are all united in working towards electing President Bola Tinubu. I am confident that in the next election, those who previously received 2,000 votes will no longer receive 50, as we have nothing left to give. Our votes will be cast for President Bola Tinubu.”
