During the ongoing investigation into the death of singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad, the Lagos State Police Command has declared that the nurse who attended to him, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, is the main suspect.
In their initial report, the police stated that Ayobami Sadiq, a friend of Mohbad and also known as Spending, contacted the auxiliary nurse on September 11, 2023, to provide medical treatment to the singer at his residence in Lekki, Lagos.
The nurse arrived on September 12, 2023, and administered three injections, which are believed to have caused the chain of reactions that ultimately led to the singer’s death.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, stated that the nurse admitted that the injections she gave to the deceased caused the reactions that ultimately led to Mohbad’s death.
Other experts and witnesses supported her admission. The nurse administered Tetanus Toxoid, Paracetamol (IV), and Ceftriaxone injection (IV) at Mohbad’s residence on September 12, 2023, which directly triggered the reactions resulting in the singer’s death.
The nurse’s actions are considered criminal due to her lack of qualification to administer these medications and her negligence in administering them in a non-clinical environment, disregarding standard medical protocols.
“Ayobami Sodiq, also known as Spending, was implicated in a conspiracy related to the death of the singer Mohbad. He invited an auxiliary nurse, whom he knew personally, to provide treatment to the deceased in an inappropriate setting, which ultimately led to Mohbad’s demise.
Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owoduni, known as Prime Boy, was a childhood friend of Mohbad. They were together at a show in Ikorodu on September 10, 2023.
After the show, a violent altercation occurred between Mohbad and Ibrahim, resulting in Mohbad being injured. The treatment of his injury ultimately led to his death.
Samson Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, is a suspect in the homicide and bullying/assault case. Abdulazeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, is another suspect in the same case.”
The police have confirmed that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has not yet responded to inquiries made in written letters. They also stated that they are still awaiting the results of the Autopsy and Toxicology Tests.
Due to the suspicions surrounding Mohbad’s death on September 12, 2023, the Commissioner of Police has established a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The primary objective of this team is to conduct a thorough, professional, fair, transparent, rule of law-guided, and evidence-led investigation into the homicide.
The Commissioner of Police has made it clear that the ultimate goal of this investigation is not only to uncover the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death but also to ensure justice is served for Mohbad.
Yesterday, he reaffirmed that the investigation is focused on addressing two main questions.
