Mr. Tucker Carlson became a print journalist as far back as the 1990s, writing for The Weekly Standard magazine among others. From 2000 to 2005 he was a commentator on CNN as well as co-host of primetime news debate program Crossfire. He then hosted the every night program Tucker from 2005 to 2008.

Asides being a talk show host, he has worked at Fox News as a political analyst since 2009, appearing as guest-host or guest on various programs before he lunched his current show. In 2010, Tucker Carlson co-founded and served as the editor-in-chief of The Daily Caller a conservative news and opinion website.

Tucker Carlson Early Life

Tucker Carlson was born Tucker Swanson McNear Carlson in California, United States on the 16th of May, 1969. He is the first son of Richard Warner Carlson who was the director of the Voice of America. Tucker Carlson’s paternal grandparents were Dorothy Anderson and Richard Boynton, a teenage couple who placed his dad in an orphanage from where he was adopted at the age of two years by the Carlson family who were wool brokers.

Although he was born in San Francisco Tucker Carlson was raised mostly in Southern California. His father was a news anchor in Los Angeles and an ambassador to the Seychelles. His mother abandoned the family when he was six years old. When he was 10, his father got married to Patricia Caroline Swanson who was an exceptionally wealthy woman, thanks to her grandfather Carl A. Swanson, who owned the Swanson frozen foods empire.

Tucker Carlson attended Trinity College in Hartford from where he obtained a degree in history in 1991.

Tucker Carlson has been fortunate enough throughout his successful career which kicked off in 2000, when he began co-hosting the short-lived The Spin Room. He got a bigger role in 2001 when he was appointed co-host of Crossfire. On the show, he represented the political right alongside Robert Novak (alternating on different nights), while Paul Begala and James Carville, also switching as hosts, represented the left.

Tucker Carlson had a row with Jon Stewart, the host of The Daily Show of Comedy Central in 2004. Jon Stewart argued that Tucker and the nature of the show Crossfire were both harmful to political discourse in America.

In January 2005, CNN publicized their decision to end their relationship with Carlson, and that the Crossfire show would soon be cancelled. Jonathan Klein the CNN chief told Tucker Carlson on January 4, 2005, that the news network had decided to not renew his contract.

In July the following year, Tucker reported live for Tucker from Haifa, Israel, during the 2006 Lebanon War between Hezbollah and Israel in southern Lebanon. While still in the Middle East, he hosted MSNBC Special Report: Mideast Crisis. He made regular appearances on Verdict with Dan Abrams as the panelist in political discussions.

Mr. Tucker is a married man and dad to four children. He has been married to his lovely wife Susan Andrews since 1991. The couple met (and later married) at the St. George School Chapel. St. George is a boarding high school in Middletown, located Rhode Island.

In 2011, Tucker Carlson and his wife stepped down from a $4 million home to a $2 million home in Washington D.C. neighborhood of Kent. They later sold that house in November 2017 for $2.04 after they had bought a new house in the same neighborhood for $3.895 million in July.

For almost a long period of ten years, Tucker and his younger brother have been fixated in a lawsuit which has to do with the estate of their estranged mother. Their mother is Lisa Vaughn. She was the beneficiary of the oil and gas partnership in rural places of central California which covered a combined total of 70,000 acres of land.

At a certain point the Carlson brothers believed the royalty rights were only worth a fairly insignificant sum of money, maybe around $125,000 at most. Eventually  they learned the royalty rights were worth at least $2.5 million. They sued the estate of their late mother which expressly left each of Tucker and his brother the nominal amount of $1. As of the time of this writing, that lawsuit is reportedly still unsettled.
