Two Kidnapped US Mission staff in Anambra Released as Police Rescues Them

On Tuesday at Ogbaru Local Government Area in Anambra States, Security operatives have rescued two members of staff of the United States consulate in Nigeria who were kidnapped during the attack on their convoy.

It was disclosed in a press release by Journalists in Akwa on Friday by DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the state police spokesman.

The identities of the rescued victims were yet to be disclosed.

According to Ikenga, the rescued were unhurt by the joint security forces in the early hours of Friday.

In the early hours of Friday, May 19, 2023, the joint forces rescued the two unhurt remaining victims abducted during the attack on a US convoy attack along Atani/Osamela road in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.

He added that “Operations are still ongoing and further details will be communicated”.
