1. Meryl Streep

First on our list is Mary Louise Streep popularly known as Meryl Streep a 74-year-old American actress born on June 22nd, 1949, in Summit, New Jersey. Meryl Streep is usually described as “the best actress of her generation”, and is especially known for her versatility and adaptability in her accent.

Meryl Streep has received several accolades throughout her career spanning more than five decades, including a record 21 Academy Award nominations, winning three, and a record 32 Golden Globe Award nominations, of which she won eight.

Meryl Streep’s father was Harry William Streep, Jr., a pharmaceutical executive of German and Swiss ancestry, and her mother was Mary Wilkinson Streep, an artist. Meryl has two younger siblings both brothers: Harry William Streep III and Dana David Streep, both actors.

Meryl Streep has from the start of her career to date starred in several films which we are not going to mention here and has bagged numerous awards and nominations for her outstanding body of work.

2. George H. W. Bush

The second person on our list is George Herbert Walker Bush. George H. W. Bush was an American politician, diplomat, and businessman born on June 12th, 1924, and died on November 30th, 2018.

Bush served as the 41st president of the United States from 1989 to 1993. He was a member of the Republican Party and previously served as the 43rd vice president from 1981 to 1989 under President Ronald Reagan.

George H. W. Bush also served in the U.S. House of Representatives, as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, and as Director of Central Intelligence.

George H. W. Bush was born in Milton, Massachusetts, and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut. He had his education at  Phillips Academy and thereafter served in the United States Navy Reserve during World War II. 

3. Hillary Clinton

Hillary Diane Clinton (née Rodham) simply known as Hillary Clinton is a 76-year-old American politician, diplomat, and former lawyer born on October 26th, 1947 in Edgewater Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Hillary Clinton’s father was Hugh Rodham an English and Welsh descent who founded and managed a small and successful textile business, and her mother was  Dorothy Howell, a homemaker of Dutch, English, French Canadian, Scottish, and Welsh ancestry. 

Hillary Clinton served as the 67th United States secretary of state under former US president Barack Obama from 2009 to 2013, and also as a United States senator representing New York from 2001 to 2009, and then as First Lady of the United States as the wife of president Bill Clinton from 1993 to 2001. 

She is a member of the Democratic Party and was the party’s nominee for president in the 2016 presidential election, where she emerged as the first woman to win a presidential nomination by a major U.S. political party.

4. Jodie Foster

Alicia Christian Foster popularly known as Jodie Foster is a 61-year-old American actress and filmmaker born on November 19th, 1962, in Los Angeles.

Jodie Foster’s father was Lucius Fisher Foster III, a wealthy businessman and her mother was Evelyn Ella “Brandy” (née Almond) Foster is of English, German and Irish descent. From her paternal side, she is John Alden’s descendant, who migrated to North America on the Mayflower in 1620.

Jodie Foster has throughout her career been a recipient of numerous awards and nominations for her outstanding body of work including two Academy Awards, three British Academy Film Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and the honorary Cecil B. DeMille Award. 

Jodie Foster has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for her work as a director, she was named the most beautiful woman in the world in 1992 by People magazine and in 2003, she was voted Number 23 in Channel 4’s countdown of the 100 Greatest Movie Stars of All Time.

Jodie Foster was named by Entertainment Weekly as the 57th on their list of 100 Greatest Movie Stars of All Time in 1996, then in 2016, she was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a motion pictures star at 6927 Hollywood Boulevard.

5. Edward Norton

Edward Harrison Norton popularly known as Edward Norton is a 54-year-old American actor and filmmaker born on August 18th, 1969, in Boston and raised in Columbia, Maryland.

His father was Edward Mower Norton Jr. who served in Vietnam as a Marine lieutenant before emerging as an environmental lawyer and conservation advocate and worked in Asia and a federal prosecutor in the Carter administration, while his mother, Lydia Robinson “Robin” Rouse, was an English teacher. 

Edward Norton has received several awards and nominations for his outstanding body of work, including a Golden Globe Award and three Academy Award nominations.

Edward Norton was introduced to theatrical productions at local venues at a very young age, and after he graduated from Yale College in 1991, he worked for a few months in Japan before he relocated to Manhattan to pursue his acting career. 

Edward Norton gained quick recognition and critical acclaim for his debut in Primal Fear in 1996, which he bagged a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and an Academy Award nomination in the same category for.

Norton bagged an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for his role as a reformed neo-Nazi in American History X in 1998. He also was featured in the film Fight Club in 1999, which garnered a cult following.

6. Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Amondi Nyong’o popularly known as Lupita Nyong’o is a 40-year-old Kenyan-Mexican actress born on March 1st, 1983, in Mexico City.

Nyong’o has throughout her career received several awards and nominations including one Academy Award and nominations for two Primetime Emmy Awards and one Tony Award.

Lupta Nyong’o’s father Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o, is a Kenyan politician and college professor and her mother were Dorothy Ogada Buyu. Nyong’o had her education at a college in the United States, and subsequently bagged a bachelor’s degree in film and theatre studies from Hampshire College.

Lupita Nyong’o is a citizen of both Kenya and Mexico citizenship and identifies as “Kenyan-Mexican” She is of Luo ancestry on both paternal and maternal sides of her family, and is the second of her parents’ six children.

7. Angela Bassett

Angela Evelyn Bassett popularly known as Angela Bassett is a 65-year-old American actress born on August 16th,1958, in New York City.

Bassett is notable for her work in film and television since the late 1980s. She has received several awards and nominations including two Golden Globe Awards, with nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards.

Angela Bassett’s father was Daniel Benjamin Bassett, a civil servant, and her mother was Betty Jane (née Gilbert) a social worker. Angela Bassett got her middle name in honor of her aunt Evelyn.

8. William Howard Taft

William Howard Taft was born on September 15th, 1857,  in Cincinnati, Ohio, and he died on March 8th, 1930.

William Howard Taft served as the 27th president of the United States from 1909 to 1913. He also served as the tenth chief justice of the United States from 1921 to 1930, making him the first and only person to have held both offices. 

William Howard Taft’s father, was  Alphonso Taft, a U.S. attorney general and secretary of war. He attended Yale College and joined the Skull and Bones, of which his father was a founding member. 

After Taff became a lawyer, he was appointed a judge while still in his twenties, as he progressed and rose rapidly, as he was eventually named named solicitor general and a judge of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. 

In 1901, William Howard Taft was appointed civilian governor of the Philippines by President William McKinley appointed Taft, and in 1904, Roosevelt appointed him Secretary of War, and he emerged as Roosevelt’s hand-picked successor. 

William Howard Taft was elected president in 1908 and was chosen to succeed Theodore Roosevelt, however, he was defeated for reelection in 1912 by Woodrow Wilson after Roosevelt split the Republican vote by running as a third-party candidate. 

In 1921,William Howard Taft was appointed by President Warren G. Harding to the office of the chief justice, which he held until one month before his demise.

9. Jennifer Connelly

Jennifer Lynn Connelly popularly known as Jenifer Connelly is a 53-year-old American actress born on December 12th, 1970, in Cairo, New York, in the Catskill Mountains. 

Jennifer Connelly is the only child of her mother, Ilene, an antique dealer, and of Jewish descent, and her father Gerard Karl Connelly was a clothing manufacturer and a Catholic of Irish ancestry.

Jenifer Connelly started her career as a child model before she made her acting debut in the 1984 crime film Once “Upon a Time in America”. After she graduated from high school, she studied English literature at Yale University in 1988.

After her work of several years as a model, Jeniffer Connelly decided to focus on acting. She starred in several films including the horror film Phenomena in 1985, the musical fantasy film Labyrinth in 1986, the romantic comedy Career Opportunities in 1991, and the period superhero film The Rocketeer in 1991.

Jeniffer Connelly has received accolades for her outstanding performance in the science fiction film Dark City in 1998, and her role as a drug addict in Darren Aronofsky’s drama film Requiem for a Dream in 2000.

10. Paul Newman

Paul Leonard Newman was born on January 26th, 1925, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, and died on September 26th, 2008.

He was an American actor, film director, race car driver, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Paul Newman had bagged several awards and nominations including one Academy Award, one BAFTA Award, three Golden Globe Awards, one Screen Actors Guild Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and many others.

Paul Newman got his B A in drama and economics from Kenyon College in 1949 and later attended the Yale School of Drama for a year before further studying at the Actors Studio under Lee Strasberg.
