Yesterday in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, hundreds of youths peacefully protested demanding justice for the death of Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

In response, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State ordered a joint investigation by the state Police Command and the Department of State Services into the singer’s death.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State also urged the Nigeria Police Force to investigate the mysteries surrounding the singer’s death.

Additionally, the Lagos State government pledged to provide financial assistance to the singer’s family and his child. Mohbad, a former artist under Marlian Records owned by Naira Marley, passed away at the age of 27 last week Tuesday, with the cause of his death still under

Moreover, concerned individuals, particularly young residents, implored the relevant authorities to ensure justice for both the grieving family and the deceased. The protesting young individuals who spoke with journalists insisted that the Nigeria Police must hold Naira Marley and Sam Larry accountable.

In addition, they challenged Naira Marley and Sam Larry to emerge from hiding and face the Nigerian people regarding Mohbad’s death. They also demanded that other individuals implicated in the singer’s death be appropriately summoned for questioning.

The young individuals, all dressed in black T-shirts, initiated the rally from Panseke and proceeded through Oke-Ilwo, Isale-Igbehin, Sapon to Ake while carrying placards displaying various messages such as ‘Justice for Mohbad’, ‘The Government Must Arrest Naira Marley and Sam Larry’, ‘Who is responsible for Mohbad’s death’, ‘No more followers of Naira Marley’, ‘Sammy Larry deserves punishment’, ‘Imole’s death must be avenged, ‘Too young to die at 27’, along with other

Lagos State has pledged to support the education of the child of the deceased.

A delegation from the state government, led by Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, visited the mother of the deceased, accompanied by other government officials.

During the visit, the Deputy Governor reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring justice for the family. He also stated that both the police and the Department of State Services (DSS) will conduct a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
